Hello! My name is Katharine and I’m a creative multi-hyphenate: freelance-travel-and-lifestyle-writer-photographer-trip-curator-creative-consultant-and-event-planner. It’s a lot! But it’s everything I love to do, and on top of my regular day-to-day loves of exploring and living in the Cotswolds. I’m happy to have you here, in this new space to put all my travel notes, insider tips and tidbits together.

Cherry Press is a monthly news blast. And it was a place I wanted to really channel my favourite travel feelings – a salty dip in the sea, a sip of a spritz, a cold and crunchy countryside walk, a juicy bite of a fresh farmers market melon, settling into a fireside table at the pub. Really, it’s that feeling I get when my favourite trattoria in Florence puts down a bowl of fresh cherries on ice on our table for dessert and when the first frost hits my sleepy honey-stoned village in the Autumn. It’s a place to shine a light on the spots, the places, and the people who work hard to create these moments.

Why the press? I want this to be a place for newsy notes too – hotel openings, restaurant pop-ups, destination spotlights, guides and itineraries, shopping edits and many more musings. There will also be recipes, interviews and lots of insider chit-chat, mostly with Cotswold folk but notes from further afield will appear too.

This is really going to be the home of my travel tips, my secret spots…my endless findings and saved lists from Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire and beyond. If you are planning a holiday, a weekend away, a staycation – I hope you use Cherry Press as your guide. It’s a collection of things to bookmark, to forward, to share. And if you are looking for more direction or personal one-on-one curation I would so appreciate you becoming a paid subscriber so I can work towards creating and crafting the coolest and most on-the-ground trips for you.

To note: I live in the Cotswolds so expect a lot of good insight into happenings of the area – from the latest pubs-with-rooms to settle in to, the shops to peruse, the villages to see and the best spots to eat at.
